The latter can occur unexpectedly, but the visit to your dentist doesn\u2019t have to be stressful! They are a great way to get relief from the problem as quickly as possible, so continue reading to learn more about what happens at these appointments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1: Examination of Your Mouth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you walk into your dental office, the front desk team will check you in and take you to your treatment room. As you get settled, your dentist will swing by to start to figure out what the issue is. They perform an oral exam and may even take some X-rays, so they can see what&#8217;s happening beneath the surface! With what they find, they will diagnose the problem and create a treatment plan for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2: Treatment of the Issue<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depending on the type of treatment that most benefits you, it may be able to be done on that same day! Simple procedures, like cavity fillings, are quick routine services that can be finished during the visit. To ensure your comfort, you will be given a local anesthetic before the treatment begins. Once done, the issue will be solved!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What about more complex procedures, or if you don&#8217;t have enough time to get them done? Don&#8217;t worry, your dentist will give you a temporary fix and give you some relief. Your comfort will be prioritized until you can come back to get a permanent solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3: Follow-Up Visit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your dentist will likely want you to come back within the next few days or weeks after the emergency visit. By scheduling this follow-up appointment, they will be able to ensure that the problem is resolved, and your recovery is going well. If you couldn&#8217;t get the treatment you needed, then they will be able to give you a permanent fix!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While dental emergencies can be sudden and worrying, you shouldn\u2019t feel stressed about your visit to your dentist. These types of appointments aren\u2019t much different from routine ones, just that they are more urgent!
