Katy, Front Office
Katy has been a part of our practice for over 20 years, and she says it’s the people that make her job truly special. She loves having coworkers who are also wonderful friends, seeing and connecting with patients every time they visit, and getting to learn from an amazing doctor. Katy brings a wealth of knowledge to our office thanks to her decades of experience and completion of countless continuing education courses over the years.
Most of Katy’s free time is dedicated to her daughter, Madalyn, and her French bulldogs, Pippa and Penelope. When she isn’t cheering on the Braves or Falcons, she likes to read, attend live music, roller skate, and travel to unfamiliar cities and national parks.
Shannon, Dental Assistant/Front Desk
Shannon has worked with Dr. Peters for over a decade and been in dentistry for over 30 years! She likes empowering our patients with education, helping them make confident treatment decisions and take better care of their teeth between appointments. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Shannon has earned her Expanded Functions certification (the highest level of distinction that can be achieved by a dental assistant).
Originally from Oakland, TN, Shannon is married with two boys and one grandson. While she was an avid barrel racer growing up, these days, she likes to go hiking, kayaking, and traveling with her service dog, Bellatrix.
Shauna, Dental Hygienist
Shauna joined our team over 15 years ago, and she has been in the dental field for more than 20 years. A graduate of Georgia State University (where she received the Golden Scaler Award in her dental hygiene class), she says that our team and patients feel like extended family, so she’s always eager to come see everyone.
Shauna is the proud mom of two kids, Thomas and Rilyn, and two dogs, Annie and Ridge. Most of her weekends are taken up by supporting her children in their various sports and activities, but she also likes to enjoy the outdoors and teaches fitness classes at the YMCA in Covington.
Ginger, Dental Assistant
Ginger has had an amazing 35+ year career in dentistry. She has spent decades serving others and says it’s always rewarding when someone comes to us with an issue, and we’re able to consistently get them out of pain or improve their appearance (or both!). A graduate of the Georgia Medical Institute, Ginger has her Expanded Duties certification and regularly attends the Hinman Dental Society conference.
Ginger and her husband, Gary, have four adult children (Nicole, Jacob, Mackenzie, and Grace) who have given them two incredible grandchildren (Finnegan and Saint). Other than spending quality time with family, Ginger enjoys reading, remodeling/home decorating, boating, and glamping.
